Three tertiary degrees means I’ve done my fair share of academic courses!
Now I get to combine that with 30+ years of living and working across 5 continents and create new and innovative courses for a variety of learners from undergrads to masters and executives.
My students and I go beyond the academic theories and all the groups of letters (ESG, SDG, MNC, NGO, IMF…).
We explore what it is like to sit around a table with umpteen organizations with one goal but as many approaches as there are people around the table.
We talk ethics, diplomacy, context.
We debate sustainability vs suitability; authenticity vs rhetoric, patient capital vs venture capital.
And we dissect capital flows, market entry strategies, and who the powers are behind the throne.

Leadership, Politics & Multiparty Collaboration
Solving today’s challenges requires multi-faceted leadership; particularly for those working or desiring to work in international business.
This is an interdisciplinary and multi-dimensional course I designed as part of a new Masters in International Development degree. It pulls from development studies, political science, economics, history, sociology, governance and government studies.
The seven modules can also be taught as one-off courses or trainings.
Global Finance.
The magnitude of financing required to meet the multiple crises facing our world today is astounding. Not just from the so-called Global North to the Global South, but vice-versa as well. The need surpasses the current capacities of government and international donors.
This Masters level course explores and unpacks the central concepts, players and trends of global finance in all its forms while also studying its impact (or lack of) on development and on recipients.

Global Business
All business is global in today’s world. From the raw materials to where our customers, the effect of geopolitics affects everyone from entrepreneurs to multi national corporations.
This course introduces students to global business by way of practical and engaging real life stories that illustrate how (not) to conduct business, quantifying risk, the role of culture, market entry strategies, and how to finance international expansion.
